I always let the cat set the pace and make sure they feel safe and comfortable during each visit. I also provide regular updates with photos and messages, so owners can feel reassured that their cat is happy and well looked after while they’re away.

Hi! I’m a PhD student based in the UK and a genuine cat lover. Over the past year, I’ve regularly looked after my landlord’s cat, taking care of feeding, grooming, administering oral medication, cleaning litter trays, and providing companionship while respecting the cat’s individual personality and boundaries. I understand that every cat is different. Some are very social, while others need time and space to feel comfortable. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to their behaviour, and I always prioritise their wellbeing and routine. Whether your cat enjoys playing, cuddling, or simply having a calm and reassuring presence around, I’ll make sure they receive the care they need while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll care for your cat as if they were my own.

We miss Xiandong already — she is a wonderful pet sitter! She moved to Lisbon to study for her PhD and lived in our house for a long time. During that time, she established a wonderful relationship with my cat, Alfie. Alfie was happy to play with her every day — he would even call her from outside her room. While I was away, many times, for sometime 2 weeks, Xiandong stayed with Alfie, feeding him, cleaning his litter tray, playing with him and interacting with him. It could not have been more perfect. She always made good reports and tried to solve problems in a very nice way. She does a lot of research, and I learnt a lot from her. Alfie became much more active and even lost a bit of weight! It was wonderful to witness the development of their relationship and to observe the care and gentleness with which Xiandong treated Alfie. As well as that, Xiandong's hobby is drawing, and she did some beautiful drawings of Alfie! You won't regret having Xiandong as your pet sitter. Highly recommended!
