I have been a friend of felines for as long as I can remember. I grew up befriending neighbourhood cats and even earning praise for my ability to speak to and soothe animals. I spent a lot of my childhood playing with, feeding and learning about cats. In sixth form I undertook work experience in a vet surgery where I learned more about cats as patients as well as friends. I got to understand their body language and social cues. This lead me to rescue two kittens and raise them to be friendly and happy cats. Despite being found a year apart, they have an unbreakable bond and live as brothers. Now I am a medical student who spends most of my time studying in my room and I find it much less tedious with a furry friend nearby.
