Pet Sitter: My Dream Job!
Available across several locations from Edinburgh, across Fife, and Dundee. I love dogs too, but yes, my most recent pal was Murrfy; he was my best mate, and I'm heartbroken, even though he has been gone for a few months now. Truthfully, looking after animals is my absolute favourite thing to do—caring for them feels less like work and entirely like a dream job to me! Alongside that genuine passion, my career as a secondary school teacher means I know the value of reliability, responsibility, and a calm presence. I hold an up-to-date PVG check, so you can have complete peace of mind when leaving your home and your furry family members in my hands. To be completely honest, I am a massive softy when it comes to animals. Until recently, I had my own wonderful cat, Murrfy (the 'Murrfster'). I doted on him completely, and while I miss him dearly, I just can't bring myself to get another cat of my own just yet. Cat sitting is the perfect way for me to channel that affection and give your pets the devoted, loving company they deserve while you are away. My weekly routine offers a unique level of flexibility for locations. I am based in Edinburgh but teach over half the week up in St Andrews. Because of this, I am very happy to house-sit in the evenings in Edinburgh, or absolutely anywhere along the commuting route to Fife, including St Andrews itself and nearby Dundee. Staying over in the Fife area is a huge help for my commute, making it a wonderful win-win for both of us! During term time, I am available for quiet evenings and overnight stays—perfect for a cat who just wants a warm lap, some dinner, and a bit of a fuss while I get on with my evening lesson prep. During the school holidays, my schedule opens up completely, making me available for much longer, continuous stays. I would absolutely love to help out, keep your home secure, and ensure your cats get all the affection they could possibly want while you are apart.

I can highly recommend Stephen as someone who can be relied upon to take the utmost care of any pet in his care. As an example of his devotion to animal welfare, he adopted a cat from a rescue charity in the Middle East and then brought it back to the UK when he returned from abroad and spared nothing in terms of time or veterinary care to ensure a high quality of life for the animal. He has also been a cat-sitter for friends and colleagues on many occasions, trustworthy, reliable and conscientious in his duties.
Stephen is a passionate animal lover. I’ve seen him caring for his own cat as well as looking after others, like they’re his own. He’s responsible, caring and a safe pair of hands for your pets.

Schedule
Schedule As a secondary school teacher, I am out during the school day. I have one full dya off per week, making me ideally suited for independent cats who are happy to have a quiet house after breakfast. I am reliably back in the late afternoon or early evening to provide dinner, playtime, and a warm lap while I get on with my lesson prep. During the Scottish school holidays, my timetable opens up completely, giving me total flexibility for longer, continuous stays anywhere between Edinburgh and Fife and Tayside. Safety, trust & environment I offer pet care in your own home, ensuring your cat remains in their familiar, secure environment where they feel most settled. Having doted on my own beloved cat, Murrfy, I intimately understand the immense trust required to hand over your keys. As a PVG-checked professional, I am meticulous about home security, cleanliness, and strictly following your instructions regarding doors, windows, and feeding routines. I will always send regular photo updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your home is safe and your cat is thoroughly spoiled.

I generally prefer to offer pet care in your own home, ensuring your cat remains in their familiar, secure environment where they feel most settled. However, I can also welcome pets into my home in Edinburgh if required. If staying with us, they will have daytime company as my partner works from home, but I do kindly ask for a little more than a day’s notice so we can ensure everything is perfectly set up for their arrival! Having doted on my own beloved cat, Murrfy, I intimately understand the immense trust required to hand over your pet’s care. As a PVG-checked professional, I am meticulous about home security, cleanliness, and strictly following your instructions. I will always send regular photo updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your home is safe and your cat is thoroughly spoiled.
