Availability
Pet care fits around my full-time 9–5 Monday to Friday job, and I carefully plan my schedule to ensure every pet receives reliable and consistent care. I work from home on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, which means I am able to offer lunchtime visits in addition to morning and evening visits on these days. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, I work in the office, so I am available for early morning and evening visits only. I am fully available at weekends and can also offer additional flexibility during holidays and with advance notice. When I commit to caring for your pets, I prioritise consistency, punctuality, and making sure they are cared for at their usual routine times wherever possible. I always plan my visits carefully so each pet receives the time, attention, and care they need without feeling rushed.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in their own home, I always prioritise their safety, comfort, and routine. I understand that every pet feels most secure in their familiar environment, so I aim to keep disruption to a minimum and follow their usual schedule as closely as possible. I take time to understand each pet’s individual needs, personality, and any specific care instructions provided by the owner. This includes feeding routines, medication requirements if needed, litter tray maintenance, and preferred playtime or interaction levels. I treat every home with the utmost respect and care, ensuring doors and windows are securely closed, maintaining cleanliness, and following any specific instructions provided. I am also happy to help with small household tasks such as watering plants, bringing in post, and putting bins out to help maintain the home while owners are away. Safety is always my priority during visits. I am attentive when entering and leaving the property, and I ensure pets are safely accounted for at all times before exiting the home. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pets and entering your home, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I am in the process of completing pet first aid training and will also be applying for a DBS check to further strengthen the level of trust and reassurance I can offer clients. I aim to provide complete peace of mind through reliable care and regular updates, including photos and messages after each visit.
Information Sarah-Louise W. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pets, I like to gather key information about their routine, personality, and any specific needs so I can provide the best possible care. This includes feeding schedules, medical needs or medication, behavioural traits, and any preferences or quirks. For cats, it’s also helpful to know their litter tray routine and whether they prefer space or interaction. For dogs, I ask about walking behaviour, recall, and how they are around other dogs and people. I also take note of any anxieties or triggers, along with where essentials are kept and emergency contact details. The more I know, the better I can keep your pet safe, comfortable, and settled in their normal routine.
A typical day
A typical visit is always tailored to each pet’s routine and personality, but my main focus is making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. For cats, I usually start by checking on their wellbeing, then provide food, fresh water, and a clean litter tray. I always take time for companionship and attention, whether that’s gentle fuss, playtime, or simply sitting with them if they prefer a quieter approach. If they enjoy enrichment, I will engage them with toys and stimulation to keep them happy and relaxed. For dogs (when included in care), walks and visits are adapted to their energy levels and routine, ensuring they get appropriate exercise, attention, and care. I also carry out basic home checks during each visit and am happy to help with small tasks such as watering plants, bringing in post, and putting bins out. I always finish each visit with updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

Cat care experience
Hi, I'm Sarah! I've been cat sitting for the past three years alongside caring for my own pets, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each cat's unique personality, routine, and quirks. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently have two cats, Theo and Roo, as well as my 17 year old Thoroughbred, Peggy. Growing up surrounded by animals has given me a lifelong passion for their care and wellbeing, and I understand how important it is to leave your pets in safe, reliable, and caring hands when you're away. As both a cat owner and experienced cat sitter, I'm comfortable caring for cats of all ages, temperaments, and needs. Whether your cat loves attention and playtime or prefers a quieter, more independent approach, I'm happy to adapt my care to suit them and help them feel relaxed in their own home. Alongside my cat-sitting experience, I have volunteered with Dogs Trust and have regularly walked dogs for friends and family, giving me experience around dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. During visits, I can provide feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, playtime, companionship, and plenty of fuss (if they'll allow it!), as well as regular updates and photos so you can enjoy complete peace of mind while you're away. I'm also happy to water houseplants, bring in post, and put bins out, helping your home feel cared for while you're away. I'm based in Townhill, Dunfermline and cover the surrounding areas, including Dunfermline, Inverkeithing, Cowdenbeath, and Rosyth. If you're slightly outside my usual area, please feel free to get in touch and I'll do my best to accommodate. I take caring for other people's fur babies seriously and treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they receive the same love, care, attention, and respect that Theo, Roo, and Peggy enjoy every day. 🤍
Reviews
Lovely calm cats on our return.
Sarah-Louise is great. This time was a short notice call for her although a second time booking by us. From the moment she appeared to collect the boys were relaxed. We arrived home to stress free cats.
Sarah-Louse was great! Would highly recommend, had a very timid cat to deal with. Will def use again!
Sarah-Louise replied quickly to my initial query and communication was straightforward after that. After our initial meeting/key collection I was more than comfortable leaving my cats in her care. She gave me regular updates while I was away and I came home to happy and relaxed cats.
