Pet care experience
Your cat's second favourite person
Cats have been part of my life since I was a teenager, and I've been caring for my own for over 10 years. I'm currently owned by Pickles, my 11-year-old rescue moggy who's embracing his senior years with real granddad energy. He loves a good snooze after dinner but will absolutely let you know when it's time for a fuss! I've also grown up with family cats of all personalities, including a couple of particularly spicy strays, so I'm no stranger to a cat with strong opinions. I've cared for cats from kittenhood through to their senior years, including indoor-only cats, administering tablet medication and following individual feeding routines. I know that every cat is different. Some want cuddles and playtime, while others would much rather observe you suspiciously from across the room! I'm patient with nervous cats and believe in letting them approach on their own terms, however long that takes. During visits, I'm happy to handle feeding, fresh water, litter trays, playtime, cuddles (when invited!) and plenty of company, all tailored to your cat's personality and routine. I'll also send photos and updates so you can relax knowing they're being looked after. What I love most about cats is getting to know their little quirks and personalities. There's nothing quite like earning the trust and affection of a cat, especially one who's made you work for it!
Pets
Safety, trust & environment
I know how much trust it takes to welcome someone into your home and leave your beloved cat in their care. I'll always treat your home with the same respect and care as my own. As the owner of an indoor-only cat with medical needs, I'm particularly mindful of keeping doors and windows secure, following care instructions carefully and making sure your cat stays safe and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. I'll keep feeding areas, bowls and litter trays clean and tidy, and I'm also happy to bring in post or parcels while you're away. If anything seems unusual or concerning, I'll assess the situation, contact you promptly and follow your emergency instructions, making sure urgent veterinary help is sought when necessary. Having used cat sitters myself, I know just how reassuring it is to receive a little photo of Pickles going about his day. That's why I'll send photos and an update after every visit, so you can see how your cat is doing and enjoy your time away with one less thing to worry about.

Schedule
I'm currently between jobs, which means I've got plenty of flexibility to fit visits around you and your cat's usual routine! Whether your cat prefers an early breakfast, an afternoon check-in or some evening company, I'm happy to work around their needs wherever possible. I offer drop-in visits of different lengths and am more than happy to follow your instructions to keep things as familiar and comfortable as possible. After all, we all know who's really in charge of the household!
- Rachel can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
