About Maud J.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
My top priorities are your peace of mind and your furry fried's comfort - being away from a beloved pet is stressful enough as it is. Each pet has their own individual personality, needs, and boundaries and it is my job to know these and ensure their routine is not disrupted. I have also recently completed a Pet 1st Aid & CPR training course.
Information Maud J. would like to know about your pet
* Any particular/unusual likes, dislikes, phobias, medical conditions * For older pets, if they need extra help with anything * Food ant treat allowance * Preferred games/toys * For dogs, important commands (e.g. recall, 'drop it', etc)
A typical day
A typical day very much depends on your pet's temperament! In general, I get a good idea of what is needed based on conversations with the owner. For shyer pets, Always best to take things at the pet's pace, expecially if they are a bit shy at first. For cats, a good mix of play (wand toys, ping pong balls anyone?) and chill time is usually the best. Cats can get lonely, even if they don't necessarily show it. They are so much more relaxed and happy if they can feel that someone they trust is around. And sometimes this means being in the same room for an hour or so, busy with one's own thing like reading & napping. For dogs I am a strong believer of long and fun walks but only if suitable to your dog's personality.

Reliable and loving pet care
Cat care experience
One spring evening, 17 years ago, my brother found a tiny black cat on the side of a road in the forest. This kitten (Astor) quickly became the most cherished member of our family and has been purring loudly ever since. He also opened the cat flat to many other wonderful kitties, including the 4 rescues living in my first London flatshare in 2011! I am not in a position to have my own pets at the moment, so I have been relishing every opportunity to spend some quality time with my family's and friends' cats (feeding, cuddling, litter tray management, staring at birds from the other side of the window, etc etc etc), sometimes for a day or two, sometimes for up to 3 weeks (full house sitting)
Reviews

It was a great pleasure to meet Maud, and my Lottie thought so too! Maud is very conscientious and responsible, and someone you can rely on to look after your pet and your home well while you're away. I highly recommend.
I wholeheartedly recommend Maud for pet sitting. She took exceptional care of my cats during several summers, feeding them well and ensuring they were happy and healthy. She also looked after my home and plants with the same attention to detail. Her daily updates were a reassuring touch, and it was clear my cats adored her. I trust her entirely with their well-being and my property.
Maud cat/flat sat for me for a week earlier this year. My cat can sometimes be wary of strangers but he warmed to Maud really quickly and was soon instigating play sessions several times a day! Maud sent me regular photo and video updates as requested and my cat was always happy and comfortable in them which was lovely to see. Maud clearly loves animals and is very patient and attentive - she spotted a small wound on one of my cat’s front paws from his outside adventures and monitored it in case it looked like it might need treatment. She was quick to respond to any texts and she also took care of my plants and picked up my mail too which was really helpful. Really can’t recommend Maud highly enough - thank you!
Maud has been pet sitting Praska since 2022, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She provides a gentle, calm, and loving environment where pets feel safe and cared for. Maud has a naturally patient and caring personality, which makes all the difference when trusting someone with your furry family member. Every recommendation I gave regarding behaviour, meal times, routines, and medication was followed exactly and with great attention to detail. It was always clear that Praska was in capable and caring hands. Most importantly, Praska absolutely loves Maud and goes to stay with her happily and without any trouble, which says everything. Maud is everything you could hope for in someone looking after your little four-legged friends.
